Monthly Line Dance Socials.
We have now received the go ahead for our planned monthly line dance socials!
Our first night is Friday 10th October.
As many of you guessed, the venue is the 'Edmonton Conservative Club' where we go for our monthly 'fix' of live country music. If truth be told, although it ticks most of the boxes of our 'needs & wants' list, the dance floor area is not the biggest we've come across. However, we do manage very nicely at the country music nights. For those of you that haven't been there before, it has a purpose built wooden dance floor, plenty of tables and seating, a reasonably priced bar and parking aplenty in the car park and surrounding streets. Please do not bring in your own food or drink. This includes bottles of water. These venues are not charities and therefore have to survive on profits from bar takings. Anyone caught flouting this rule will be asked to leave immediately!
Unfortunately, the dates arranged for the rest of this year are a little bit over the place! This is due to previously arranged bookings and other commitments. Come the new year, we hope to have a regular social dates for your diaries. We are aiming to run twice monthly socials, one will be a country music line dance night, the other a mix of current and classic dances of all musical genres.
The dates for the rest of 2008 are as follows:
Friday 10th Oct (General Line Dance Mix)
Saturday 8th Nov (Pure Country)
Friday 21st Nov (General Line Dance Mix)
Friday 12th Dec (Pure Country)
Saturday 20th Dec - Xmas Party (General Line Dance Mix)
As at all our line dance events, we will be playing your requests new or old. But please be advised that at our 'Country' nights, we will not play anything of a non-country nature. Entrance fee will be £5.00 for dancers and £2.50 for non-dancers. If needs be, we will limit the number of dancers we admit for the safety and comfort of all concerned. Dancing will be from 8pm till midnight with a 'early bird' teach/recap from 7.30pm.

Tuesday Night Club
We have decided to revamp our existing 'Old Skool' Tuesday night club With immediate effect, the first HOUR will be set aside for the teaching and recapping of 'Classic' dances.
From 9pm, we will revert back to the old Tuesday night format of teaching and playing the current and more recent dances. However, as before, we'll still be throwing in the occasional classic!
We have listened to and taken on board some of your comments and suggestions aired over the last few weeks. Hopefully, we can now keep ALL the people happy ALL the time!

Xmas Party Night 2008
The fantastic 'Texas Tornados' have just been booked for our Xmas party which will be on Tuesday 16th December at Walthamstow Trades Hall. Due to the additional expense incurred of booking a 'top rated' 3 piece band and the increased cost for using this venue, we have reluctantly had to increase our ticket prices as follows;
Dancers £8.00 Non-Dancers £3.00
Non dancing Trades Hall Members FREE!
We still believe that this is great value by today's standards. Not even 2 packets of cigarettes!
'A Word Of Thanks'.
It never ceases to amaze Lesley and I how friendly our club members are, especially to new faces! You are a great bunch of people who have helped to create a superb club atmosphere. We would like to 'thank you' to those of you who, without being asked, often cover the back and side walls on a new teach. It is a great help for some of our newer members. Once again, thank you for your continued support for without you coming along week in, week out in all weathers, we wouldn't have a club.
